Come and visit

Ring the office on 01248 714478 to arrange a visit. You are welcome to see the school at work.

How admissions work

Cyngor Ynys Môn runs admissions for every school on the island. The school takes no part in deciding places, but we are happy to answer your questions.

We can admit 46 pupils in each year group. We are often oversubscribed, so apply on time.

Nursery (part time)

Your child can start Nursery in the September after their third birthday. Apply on the Cyngor Ynys Môn admissions page. The council tells you about your place shortly after the Easter holidays.

Reception (full time)

Your child can start Reception in the September after their fourth birthday. Apply on the Cyngor Ynys Môn admissions page, even if your child is already in our Nursery. The council tells you about your place.

Early entitlement

Children are entitled to 10 hours of early education a week in the term after their third birthday. The Cylch Meithrin on our site takes younger children. Ring them on 01248 716823.

Moving from another school

Speak to the headteacher of the school your child is leaving, and to our headteacher. Then apply on the Cyngor Ynys Môn admissions page.

If we do not have a place for your child, you can appeal to the local authority.

Disabled children

Disabled children are admitted under the same council policy as every other child. Talk to us before your child starts, and we will plan with you the support and access they need. Our Accessibility Plan sets out how we remove barriers around the building and the school day.

Moving on to secondary school

Pupils move to secondary school after Year 6. Children in our catchment can go to Ysgol David Hughes. Secondary staff visit during Year 6, and children spend whole days at the secondary school they choose before they start.
