Dear Parents and Carers,

From Wednesday 7 October I will be away from school for a planned operation. I expect to return early in the new year, though the exact date depends on my recovery.

Mr Gafyn Lloyd Jones will be Acting Headteacher while I am away. Miss Lara Cain will take on his teaching duties. Many of you will know Miss Cain already - she is a respected teacher who has worked with us many times. If you have any questions, please contact Mr Gafyn Lloyd Jones through the school office as usual.

Mrs Meryl Goulding has started as our school secretary. She is already a great addition to the school, and you can rest assured that someone is in the office whenever you need us. Thank you for your patience during the first month.

I am sorry to miss the Christmas show this year. I have asked the school to send me a copy of the video, and I have already reserved my seat on the sofa.

For your diary: we have added an extra HMS (staff training) day on Monday 4 January 2027. This replaces the start-of-term date in earlier calendars. Children will return to school on Tuesday 5 January. As a reminder, the remaining HMS days this year are Monday 2 November 2026, Monday 4 January 2027, Friday 11 June 2027, and Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 July 2027.

I wish you all a happy rest of term, and I will see you as soon as I am back on my feet.

Yours sincerely,

Gwyn Pleming
